Company members meet four days a week and are in engaged in a full company experience including company class, auditions for guest works, performances, and the opportunity to choreograph. KD2 is an apprentice company for students in the Department of Dance and open to students across campus who are interested in dance performance. Kaleidoscope Dance, a top Chicagoland dance studio located at the crossroads of the Skokie and Evanston communities, offers classes for dancers of all ages and. The Kaleidoscope Dancers Company fosters the unique talents and creative voices of each company member and invites audiences to share the world of movement and experience the art of dance. Students will receive a great foundation of dance education, long lasting friendships, confidence, and much more. Our experienced instructors strive to teach our dancers the same passion and dedication they have for the art of dance. Recent guest artists include Larry Keigwin, Leah Cox, Noa Shiloh, Mike Esperanza, Adam Parson, 10 Hairy Legs, Kellie St. Kaleidoscope Dance Studio is in its 41st year of instruction. The company continues to expand its repertoire with new works by guest artists, faculty and students and each year invites two to three nationally renowned artists to set works and teach master classes at the university. Additionally, the company has performed in New York City, NY, Newfoundland, Canada, and Seoul, Korea. The Kaleidoscope Dance Company was selected to perform at the National American College Dance Festival held at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In addition to two annual concerts at UCO, the company performs annually at the American College Dance Festival, other regional festivals and has performed for over 80,000 elementary and high school students in Oklahoma as part of its arts outreach program.
The company seeks to enliven, entertain and educate audiences with its varied repertoire of modern dance, ballet, jazz, aerial and theatre dance. The Kaleidoscope Dance Company is the University of Central Oklahoma’s touring dance company.
